Federal states present COVID-19 rapid test kits to Vietnam | politics

Berlin (VNA) – Numerous federal states presented the token of over 190,000 COVID-19 rapid test kits to Vietnam during a ceremony in the seat of the Bundesrat (the German upper house) on June 25th.

The aid was raised by the four federal states of Hamburg, Bremen, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Saxony-Anhalt. It is flown to Vietnam by the national airline Vietnam Airlines and arrives early next week.

At the ceremony, representatives of the states praised the achievements of the Vietnamese government in the fight against COVID-19 and expressed their conviction that Vietnam, with the efforts of the government and the people, will soon bring the pandemic under control.

When COVID-19 broke out in Germany and face masks were in short supply, the Vietnamese government, organizations and individuals, as well as the Vietnamese community in the European country, helped locals fight the outbreaks by offering hundreds of thousands of masks and food servings to frontline medical workers they remembered.

For his part, the Vietnamese ambassador to Germany, Nguyen Minh Vu, emphasized that the aid is a symbol of solidarity and friendship between the countries, especially as Vietnam and Germany are celebrating the 10th year of the strategic partnership.

Against the background of COVID-19who have favourited Relations between Vietnam and German federal states will continue to thrive in many ways, affirmed the diplomat.

He took the opportunity to meet Dr. Kambiz Ghawami, Executive Chairman of the non-governmental organization World University Service (WUS), to express his gratitude for the support of the Vietnamese embassy in receiving and forwarding aid to the Southeast Asian country.

According to Ghawami, other federal states will soon be presenting rapid test kits to Vietnam. /.
