New Delhi: Shiv Sena on Thursday criticized the center for raising fuel prices in some states after the recent polls by the gathering, saying that “today’s rulers” could go to elections at any rate.

An editorial in the Sena mouthpiece, Saamana, said that fuel prices, which have always been on the rise, suddenly fell during elections in four states (Assam, West Bengal, Kerala, Tamil Nadu) and one union territory (Puducherry). .

“But the picture changed completely after the election results. Today’s rulers can vote to any extent,” claimed the Marathi daily.

Gasoline and diesel tariffs reached record highs after state oil marketing companies raised prices “five times in a row”. The election results were announced on May 2, and fuel prices have risen since May 4, it said.

“There are no elections in sight soon. Perhaps the government wants to fill their coffers that were empty due to the cut in fuel prices during the election period. What about the common man’s pockets? They are empty,” the Sena said.

It was said that unemployment and wage cuts had already hit the common man hard.

Previously, during the Bihar Assembly elections, fuel prices were stable and, according to the results, there was a 15-fold increase in prices in 18 days.

During the Delhi gathering polls, there was a “miracle” that fuel prices were stable, the Sena said sarcastically. During the Karnataka gathering polls three years ago, fuel prices in India were “stable” despite the surge in international crude oil prices, he added.
