Coastal showers and T-storms today with more rain heading towards the end of the working week

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) – Good Wednesday afternoon, Gulf Coast!

Coastal showers and storms continued throughout the morning, similar to yesterday. Most of these downpours stay east of the bay, with some heavier downpours on site so tread carefully on the roads! It was also warm and muggy this morning and today will only get hotter as the day progresses. Temperatures will hit the low 90’s but it will feel like the high 90’s and low 100’s with the humidity. It’s going to be a typical summer day today, so make sure to drink plenty of water and take frequent breaks if you plan to be outside. Our overnight lows will be in the mid to high 70’s with a few clouds clinging to them.

Tomorrow brings a higher chance of isolated storms with a 50 percent chance of rain during the day, but most storms are expected to pass through the area in the later evening hours and overnight through Friday. There is a Level 1 out of 5 risk for almost everywhere north of I-10 and a Level 2 out of 5 risk in parts of Clarke County and immediately north of the view range. The main threat from these storms will be damaging winds. The chance of rain remains elevated at 50 percent on Friday before we return to our normal summer pattern through the weekend. With rain expected towards the end of the working week, temperatures will cool slightly before warming to the mid-90s by the end of the weekend. Isolated storms remain possible for the next week.
